The Librarian / Teacher Partnership

This is a free course offered to Illinois Librarians & Teachers from the same school, willing to work together to teach 21^st Century Information Fluency skills as part of content curriculum. This partnership is a critical component of our class.

Online participants earn 36 CDPUs (also eligible for the 25% CoreyH. requirement) for committing 6+ hours a week for six weeks.  The online participant is expected to fully participate in the course. The online participant is also expected to clearly communicate with the partner. This means discussing course requirements, exchanging ideas, and determining roles and responsibilities.

Offline partners earn 6 CDPUs of credit by collaborating with their Partner to write the course Lesson plan. The 'offline' partner is not expected to participate in the online aspects of the class. The specific duties of the offline partner should be negotiated between partners. The offline partner is expected to commit to a minimum of 6 hours of active participation with their full time partner.

Duties of the 'offline' partner:

• The 'offline' partner confers and brainstorms with the 'online' partner about the course project.
• The 'offline' will help write the Course Project Lesson Plan. The degree of participation in creating the lesson plan should be negotiated and agreed upon by all partners involved.
• The 'offline' partner may be asked by their partner to test and offer feedback on the IMSA Online Modules.

Possible Partnership Configurations:

• One partner can participate in the online class while the other works at school to design a lesson plan.  (This earns the online class participant 36 CDPUs and the offline partner 6 CDPUs.) 
• The Librarian and Teacher partner can take the class together as equal partners and each earn 36 CDPUs.
• We are open to creative teaming ideas!
