About this tool

Create an MLA formatted citation for an electronic Journal Article by filling in as many boxes as you can. There is a different format for a print Journal article. In some cases, information may not be available. If so, leave those fields blank.

The format for citing an electronic Journal Article in MLA style is:

Author's Last Name, First Name Middle Initial. "Title of Article" Name of Journal Volume:Issue (Year): Page numbers. Web. Date of access.

Citing Page Numbers

Enter the page range of the article. Numbers may be abbreviated to save space. If numbers are not available, leave this field blank and the wizard inserts n.pag.

Date formatting

This is the date you accessed the article. Start with the date (no punctuation) abbreviate the Month followed by the year.
